Wanting to spend some time doing something just that little bit different ... why not come and enjoy our alternative dining experience at LucyCooks.

Once a month we invite a guest chef to take over LucyCooks in order to demonstrate dishes and chat about how they have achieved all that they have in the culinary world. From local celebrities and writers to guests from further afield. All our ‘Big Friday’ chefs have stories to tell and will inspire you to really get ‘into food’.

This Big Friday our guest chef will be Justin Woods, the executive head chef at The Castle Green Hotel in Kendal. Justin Woods has long been a supporter of using local suppliers way before the Hughs, Jamies and Gordons of the TV world made buying local trendy. Now, in his latest menu, he has chosen to prove that great food can be sourced close to home as he showcases suppliers that are no more than 55 miles from his kitchen door.

Rather like a 'culinary bookclub’ without the homework' The evening commences at 6.30pm with a drink and introduction to fellow guests, you can have a good look around the facilities at LucyCooks and hopefully be inspired to come and 'cook' on another occasion. You will then be seated 'dinner party' style in our lovely big Aga kitchen and enjoy watching our celebrity chef demonstrate something delicious, upon which you will then dine with a glass of good wine. There is a large plasma screen, so plenty of visibility. Soft drinks and beer will be available to purchase. Recipes and handy hints will be freely given out and there will be the opportunity to ask questions. This is a most enjoyable 'alternative' dining experience whether you wish to come with friends or alone.

(we aim to finish the evening at 10.00pm – however, you may be having so much fun that you stay a little longer!)
