NEW CHEF'S TABLE
CONCEPT SERVES UP RELAXING ENTERTAINING ON A PLATE

The Lake District cookery school, LucyCooks in Staveley near Kendal, has launched an exciting new dining experience offering all the ingredients a host could desire for their private get-together.

The new experience, ‘The Chef’s Table’, has been devised to put an evening of fine dining on a plate, simply, enjoyably and with memorable moments to mull over once carriages have departed.

The concept enables a party of up to 20 people to take over the cookery school’s lovely Aga room for an evening of total relaxation, freedom from cookery chores, the Chef’s Table offers something truly unique.

The private dining experience revolves around a fixed, four-course menu, selected by the host from a choice of seven scintillating starters, six magnificent mains and five delicious desserts.

Starter choices include Warm Smoked Mackerel Fillet with Gooseberry Compote and Elderflower Vinaigrette and Twice Baked Parmesan Souffle with Mulled Pears and Pickled Walnuts, all choices getting taste buds in tune for the similarly irresistible treats that follow.

When it comes to the main event, it is as much about theatre as about the food. The option of Crisp Crackling Roast Loin of Porchetta with sage and fennel, black pudding or just salt and pepper will add drama to any occasion, whilst the arrival on the table of an impressive Beef en Croute, stuffed with Mushroom Duxelle and baby spinach and served with a red wine jus, is an undisputable wow factor for friends or VIPs.

To accompany the selected mains, the host can choose three side dishes from a list of 12 suggestions that has something for everyone whether they are a glutton for garlic green beans or crazy about creamy Caesar salad.

Those wishing to have a fun theme have the option of a Boardroom School Dinners menu, comprising Corned Beef Hash with creamed onions, crisp pancetta and poached egg for the starter, a hearty Herb and Onion Suet Pastry Steak Pudding with rich gravy, buttered cabbage and dripping chips and a dessert of Rich Pudding Croquettes with Strawberry Custard. Dressing up St Trinian’s style is entirely a matter of personal choice!

The Chef’s Table concept offers a fabulous entertaining option that is free from hassle, requires no preparation on the part of the host and which allows everyone to sit back and enjoy excellent food in an atmospheric environment. Whether you want to have a sophisticated soiree or an old-school-tie jamboree, we have the recipe for a successful event.
