FUN TO BE SERVED UP IN THE LAKES
Festive activity days involving family fun in the kitchen can be enjoyed at the relaxed and friendly LucyCooks cookery school in Staveley, near Kendal, where floury finger marks and sloppy spillages are all part of the enjoyment!
A Christmas Family Fun Day will take place at the state-of-the-art Lake District cook school on Sunday, December 18 – perfect timing for parents wondering what to do with the children before Santa arrives, or Mums or Dads wishing to get the kids out of the house so they can secretly wrap some pressies!
Places can be booked for an adult and child to cook together and tackle around four different dishes between arrival at 9.30am and departure around 4pm. The two-generation team will have scrapes, spoon licks and stirrings together, as well as eating one of their dishes for lunch, to assess progress! They can then take the rest of their dishes home as a goody bag, to impress friends and other family members.
With a festive feel to proceedings, lots of giggles and guffaws are on the cards pre-Christmas, with this delightful day truly setting the tone for the rest of the holiday.
LucyCooks is then laying on a second Family Fun Day post-Christmas, on December 30, enabling those already bored with their presents to do something exciting, just before New Year. Whilst the dishes will be slightly different, the format will be the same, ensuring a batch of foodie treats is in the house before the 2012 countdown begins.
As well as being a spirit raiser and boredom buster, this second Family Fun Day would make a perfect Christmas present for a child, or even a family of four, if a grandmother or grandfather are feeling generous towards their children and grandchildren.
